My childhood was very active; from a young age, my parents took me along on hikes, bike rides, and every other outdoor activity. I tried various sports growing up, and in high school, I played tennis and softball but never excelled at any particular sport. Then, in my senior year of high school, wanting to find a new way to stay active, I joined a local CrossFit gym. Almost immediately, I fell in love with the sport and, more so, the community. After a few short months, I got my mom to join CrossFit as well (and yes, she is still doing CrossFit!)

When I left my local CrossFit gym to attend college at UW-Madison, I continued to find ways to pursue my newfound passion for health and fitness. I like to joke that I spent more time at the gym than in classes. In my freshman year, I became a Personal Trainer for the University and quickly switched my major to Kinesiology– Exercise Science.

However, I began to miss the sense of community that is so unique to CrossFit. The following year I joined a CrossFit gym near the University, and in 2019 I began coaching CrossFit.

I graduated from UW-Madison with B.S. in Kinesiology– Exercise Science and am currently pursuing my Master’s in Physician Assistant and Master’s in Public Health at George Washington University.

To me, CrossFit is about leading a happy and healthy lifestyle. It is about cultivating relationships in a community that encourages you to find strength within yourself and then encourage strength in others. BCF’s community is unlike any other – it is welcoming, supportive and inspires you to keep showing up.

CrossFit has made me stronger not only physically but mentally as well. I hope to take the lessons CrossFit has taught me – reinforcing functional movement, eating real food, and creating healthy relationships–into my career as a healthcare provider. As a coach, I love watching everyone’s unique journey in CrossFit and working to empower them both in and out of the gym.

I hold the following certifications:

  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, CF-L1
  • Torokhtiy Weightlifting Seminar
  • Bachelor of Science, Kinesiology– Exercise Science, University of Wisconsin-Madison
