Q: How did you find out about Ballston CrossFit (BCF) and what convinced you to join the gym?
I found out about BCF via a Google search – I had done CrossFit before and was looking to get back into it!
Q: What stopped you from joining the gym sooner?
I didn’t live in Arlington. I joined pretty quickly after moving!
Q: When did you start at BCF and what were your goals you set when you joined the gym?
I started in December 2025. I wanted to get stronger and I’m so bad at working out alone.
Q: What has helped you achieve success at BCF?
Consistency! Going 3-4 times a week has helped make sure I’m meeting my goals.
Q: What advice can you give to others who are new to CrossFit?
Try all the workouts! I’ve found that I improve when I don’t avoid the ones that scare me. (*cough, Handstand Push Ups!*)
Q: Besides working out, what other lifestyle changes did you make outside of the gym to achieve your goals?
I continue to stay active outside of CrossFit workouts. There are so many amazing trails for biking and running in Arlington.
Q: What is the biggest benefit you have noticed since starting CrossFit (both in or out of the gym)?
I love feeling strong and I feel like CrossFit helps with injury prevention.
Q: What has been your favorite thing about BCF?
The coaches are amazing! They have a great mix of encouragement and pushing me to improve.
Q: What has been your favorite memory related to CrossFit?
Getting my first Pull Up during the Open…and then doing 20 of them! Shoutout to Bobby and Grace for the encouragement!
Q: What’s one thing you love about this gym that has nothing to do with working out?
The people! Everyone is so welcoming and it makes working out more fun.
